Elbow Pain Shouldn’t Control Your Day

The pain shows up in small ways first. Lifting a full coffee pot. Turning a doorknob. A dull ache on the outside of the elbow that flares every time you grip something and won't quiet down at night.

Push through it, and the tissue keeps failing. Elbows carry a strange amount of your daily life, and when one stops working properly, you notice it constantly. Some people feel burning along the tendon; others feel numbness running into the ring and small fingers when the arm stays bent.

What waiting costs you: tendon problems that respond well to therapy in month two often need injections or surgery by month eight, and a compressed ulnar nerve left untreated can cause permanent weakness and muscle wasting in the hand.

What we treat

Elbow Conditions We Treat and What Care Involves

We manage the full range of elbow problems, including arthritis, tennis elbow, epicondylitis, sports injuries, cubital tunnel syndrome, pitcher's elbow, tommy john's issues, impingement, fractures, sprains, instability, bursitis

01

A focused exam

That separates tendon pain from nerve compression and joint problems.

02

Imaging when it changes the plan

Including X-ray, ultrasound, MRI, or nerve testing.

03

Non-surgical care first

For most conditions, with bracing, activity changes, and therapy.

Patients working with us can expect:

04

Injections

When inflammation needs to be interrupted before rehab can work.

05

Surgical repair, release, or nerve decompression

When conservative care has run its course.

06

Most elbow conditions improve without an operation

When surgery is the right call, subspecialty training matters, because the nerves and ligaments around this joint leave little room for error.

Candidacy

Who Is a Good Candidate for Elbow Treatment?

If elbow pain, stiffness, weakness, or numbness has lasted more than a few weeks, an evaluation is worth your time. Early treatment is simpler and shorter.

Elbow care is a strong fit for:

  • Anyone with lateral or medial elbow pain that worsens with gripping, lifting, or racket sports

  • Patients with numbness or tingling in the ring and small fingers, especially when the elbow is bent

  • Workers whose repetitive tasks have made elbow pain a daily problem

  • Throwing athletes with inner elbow pain or a sense of instability

  • Patients with elbow stiffness, locking, or grinding from arthritis or loose bodies

  • Anyone recovering from an elbow fracture or dislocation who hasn't regained full motion

We also see patients who've already tried braces and rest without lasting improvement and want a clearer explanation of why.

What to expect

Your Route Back to a Working Elbow

Step 01

Pinpointing the Source

We locate exactly where the pain or numbness originates through targeted testing of the tendons, nerves, and joints. Two conditions can coexist, and we check for both.

Step 02

Confirming the Picture

X-rays, ultrasound, MRI, or nerve conduction studies are ordered only when they'll change what we do next. You'll understand the reason for each one.

Step 03

Building the Plan

We match treatment to your diagnosis, your work demands, and how long you've had symptoms, starting with the least invasive option that can realistically work.

Step 04

Active Recovery

Therapy, bracing, and load management follow a schedule with checkpoints, so we know within weeks whether the approach is working, rather than waiting months.

Step 05

Surgical Care When Needed

If conservative treatment stalls, we move forward with a procedure suited to your specific problem, then guide motion and strength recovery afterward.

FAQs About Elbow Conditions in LA

  • Tennis elbow and golfer's elbow are the most frequent tendon overuse problems of the outer and inner elbows. We also treat cubital tunnel syndrome, which is ulnar nerve compression, along with elbow arthritis, ligament injuries, bursitis, stiffness, and fractures of the elbow and forearm.

  • Usually not. The large majority of tennis elbow cases resolve with activity modification, targeted eccentric strengthening, bracing, and sometimes injections. Surgery is reserved for patients whose symptoms persist beyond six to twelve months of committed conservative treatment, and it's a small share of the people we see.

  • That pattern points to the ulnar nerve, which passes through a tight tunnel on the inner elbow. Bending the elbow, especially while sleeping or on the phone, compresses it. Early cases often improve with night splinting and positional changes. Persistent numbness or hand weakness warrants prompt evaluation to prevent permanent loss.

  • Tendon conditions typically improve over six to twelve weeks of consistent therapy, though full resolution can take longer. Nerve decompression surgery often relieves symptoms quickly, with strength returning over several months. We provide you with a specific timeline for your condition at your first visit.

  • In most cases, yes, with modifications. We identify which movements aggravate the tissue and which are safe, so you can stay productive and keep conditioning. Complete rest is rarely the answer for tendon problems, since controlled loading is part of how these tissues actually heal.

  • We're located at 5525 Etiwanda Avenue, Suite 228, Tarzana, CA 91356, serving patients throughout the San Fernando Valley, West Valley, and West LA. Call 818-578-3152 or 310-295-6317, or submit an appointment request online, and our team will reach out to confirm.

What Our Customers Say

Your Elbow Won't Fix Itself Forever

Tendons that have been failing for a year respond far more slowly than tendons failing for a month, and nerve compression that causes muscle wasting doesn't fully reverse. Timing genuinely changes your outcome here.
